In 2022, AMC Bridge started operations in Uzbekistan. Now the strong core team is formed here. And it seems to be a great time to learn more about team members from the new location. We asked our teammates about their previous experience, if the interview process was difficult, what influenced their decision to join a new company in the market, and what motivates them in their work every day.
Foziljon Eshmurodov, Software Development Engineer, Uzbekistan
I have been working at AMC Bridge for more than four months now, and I really like the company and the practices it follows in project development. First of all, the development circle is clearly set, so there is no confusion for developers. Secondly, I enjoy working with the team: all are friendly and understanding and try to help one another when needed. One more thing that I like about the company is that it values developers’ general computer science knowledge, always motivates employees to learn new technologies and languages, and stays language-agnostic in most cases. It encourages developers to be more flexible and always stay up to date on the current market.
Before joining AMC Bridge, I worked only at local IT companies. I was intrigued by software development on an international level, and AMC Bridge’s global presence in the IT market caught my attention. The international aspect was the main reason for my decision to join the company as I believed it would allow me to advance my career more rapidly and to experience a fulfilling company culture that would meet my expectations, and now I can easily say I was right about that decision.
Before I got a LinkedIn suggestion with information about an open position at AMC Bridge, I had never heard about the company, so I decided to learn more about it. I checked its website and career pages, and I was impressed. AMC Bridge has a unique specialization, and it was quite intriguing for me. My teammates have impressive technical skills and an extensive understanding of software development, and they really rock.
As for the interview process, it was not that hard, at least for me. It matched the company’s language-agnostic and team-oriented culture. In my opinion, special attention during the interview was dedicated to my understanding of the technologies I had experience with and my explanation of the solution to an actual problem. That language-agnostic part was both challenging and exciting for me, as I have never worked in such an environment before. In my previous experiences, I was limited by only one area of software development, and I was exposed to the same set of technologies in almost every company project. At AMC Bridge, developers have more opportunities to work on different sections of software development, and thus we have a better understanding of how the system we develop works.
The reason why I am in software development is to solve complex problems of a different nature. Each daunting task, especially with some unique problem to solve, inspires me incredibly. The self-fulfilling emotion and confidence I get after resolving an issue motivate me to push forward when I get stuck. The same can be said about my programmer friends: we are enthusiastic engineers flexible with technologies and environments.
Mohammad Eesa Zafari, Software Development Engineer, Uzbekistan
It’s been about seven months since I joined the AMC Bridge. From the beginning, I could easily feel how professional each team member is: irrespective of the team they are in, they all are real experts. Every single task is a separate, completely new challenge, and you never feel bored or stuck in repetitive trivial things.
Communication is essential at the company, and at the same time, even in the most serious subject, your team leader will find a fun thing to discuss and make the conversation pleasant. I appreciate that everyone tries to help you solve your everyday task challenges, even if you work remotely. And the most important thing for me is flexibility. Everyone trusts each other, and you have everything you need for your task and just need to do your job.
Talking about the interview process, the team was very friendly. Even from the first call, I felt like they were helping me find a better place to work, not just find an employee for their company. Regarding the technical part, there were two technical interviews, and I had field-specific questions in each of them. It was a bit different for me because the questions looked simple but, at the same time, required deep knowledge of the topic. In the second technical interview, I had questions about real-life challenges and how to solve them, which was my favorite part. In general, the whole process was very friendly and fast, and I really feel that each candidate is important to the company. And it’s a great feeling, especially compared to most other companies that just want to process the candidate and go for the next one.
A professional international team and company expertise and specialization in engineering, which is super interesting to me, flexibility in time, and remote work were the main reasons for me to join AMC Bridge.
Talking about developers from Uzbekistan, I can say that we like to handle challenges on our own: it can be reached through self-learning or taking some courses, but in general, asking questions or calling for help is not very common, in my opinion. And also, communication in a team is sometimes limited based on the organization’s hierarchy. For example, having a discussion with a director, manager, or even team leader is not very common for us. But working in a company where such communication is part of the corporate culture, I will eventually get used to it.
I heard a lot about the technical expertise of companies in the Ukrainian IT market, but I’ve never had a chance to collaborate with them. And when I joined the AMC Bridge team, I saw that even project managers have profound knowledge of software development, programming, and engineering stuff. And at the same time, they always look for something to make a conversation fun and pleasant.
