Expanding its presence in the global IT market, AMC Bridge started operating in India and Uzbekistan. As a result, more and more new colleagues join the team, and the company begins cooperating with local communities and educational institutions. But who leads these processes and does everything possible so that local developers can learn more about AMC Bridge?
We would like to introduce Managing Directors working in Uzbekistan and India. So, we asked Abbos Zayniddinov and Karthikeyan Karamchandran what influenced their decision to join the team and whether it was easy to start operations in a new location.
Abbos Zayniddinov, Managing Director, AMC Bridge in Uzbekistan
The initial cooperation started when I was asked to conduct market research on IT business in Uzbekistan, revealing the potential for a foreign company to enter the Uzbek market. This task was interesting to me due to my previous experience. I was not familiar with AMC Bridge before.
I have an extensive experience in the IT sector of Uzbekistan. For 2 years, I worked as a Project Manager for Uzbek Telecom, where we were developing the IPTV app. My passion for process optimization developed throughout my tenure as a General Manager at Madetec-Solution LLC, where I designed and managed complex transformational projects. For instance, in 2018, I led the team developing the AML-CFT solution that required the creation of a client database of JSICB Ipak Yuli. To implement the project, we had to create a specific search feature following the bank’s criteria to search for doubtful and suspicious transactions. Also, I managed the team to develop a web presentation site for Nestle Company in Uzbekistan. Additionally, I worked with a Norwegian company WatchVault, for which we developed online and mobile applications with watch recognition features.
What influenced my decision to join the AMC Bridge team? During the meetings with the AMC Bridge Board members, I got interested in becoming part of the team.
AMC Bridge is fundamentally different in its thorough approach to hiring candidates as developers. I think a two-step interview scales up and focuses on the candidate. This is noticeable during further phone conversations with me. Also, I can say that developers understand the upcoming teamwork. In their opinion, this is a valuable difference because many of them used to work solely on the project, and after its completion, they were transferred to the bench where they could be abandoned for a long time. Here at AMC Bridge, everything seems very reliable to our newcomers.
If you ask me how Uzbek developers perceive the company and whether it is difficult to start the company’s work in a new place, where they do not know about us, I can say that it was definitely very challenging to find experienced developers with our specialization and get their attention. However, we were able to attract several seasoned developers and are on track to expand further.
And here are some tips to start communication with employees in Uzbekistan. Firstly, I should note that in Uzbekistan, web development is widespread among developers, whereas the software engineering sphere has become popular in recent years. It should be admitted that many candidates have no experience with international companies. So, the majority of potential employees are interested in professional growth. I noticed that in the initial phone interviews, the candidates often feel a lack of confidence in their abilities and knowledge. An international company also seems to be a worthy place to work in social terms. When speaking about communication, our newcomers are quite open and communicative.
What are my main goals now, and what result am I striving for? My aim is to expand AMC Bridge’s business locally with a strong team on board.
Karthikeyan Karamchandran, Managing Director, AMC Bridge in India
The cooperation with the idea of setting up an office for AMC Bridge in India was proposed by Boris Shoov, Executive Vice President of AMC Bridge. Yes, I worked closely with AMC Bridge teams and management for many years during my job at Dassault Systems, so I’m very much familiar with the company for a long time but from a bit different perspective.
I started my career as a Software Development Engineer in the banking domain and later switched to CAD development. Then I joined Dassault Systemes SolidWorks R&D group as a head of the Quality Engineering team and managed it for about 10 years. In 2015, I started my own company that predominantly works on engineering services.
I have had a very great relationship with AMC Bridge Board and the executive team for a long time. Our understanding of mutual capabilities and past success in the initiatives made me decide to join hands with the company.
AMC Bridge differs from other IT companies in terms of the technology on which we work. We are one of the strongest companies in the world that can provide CAD solutions of any breadth and depth. Against the background of major CAD software companies, our experience makes us unique in this industry.
Aimed to adopt global practices that can suit the culture and career aspirations of talented developers in India, we are currently setting up the processes and systems for AMC Bridge in India. We are planning to have Chennai and Pune as our strategic locations in India, focusing on talents in software development and testing.
Yes, it’s a little difficult to bring awareness to the candidates, but we are doing our best to let people know about the good qualities of AMC Bridge.
And here are some tips to start communication with employees in India. We are driven by professionalism, mutual respect, business ethics, and teamwork. We believe that everything can be learned if you have passion and commitment, so we welcome people with a willingness to learn, commitment to deliver the best, quality consciousness, and reliability. We are looking forward to building a great team of professionals in India that can provide world-class solutions in digital transformation.
We believe that great minds can create amazing solutions as a team. We encourage a culture of collaboration, sharing the thoughts and attitude of celebrating the work that would naturally build great teams. During the current age of remote work, we respect the work-life balance of every employee and make sure to help our employees unwind with regular team events and meetings.
My main goal, for now, is to complete the legal formalities of the company’s formation successfully, set up its business processes and system, and have a team of about 25 people on board in the next couple of months.
